IRATECRISPS

IRATECRISPS is a project of Marijn de Vries & Bannie Cheff (aka Sem Bannenberg). these two funny guys made two Edinburgh Fringe shows together Guardians and Prophets of Imperfection.

Furthermore they have a number of podcasts that they have created as a duo. you can go to the specifif podcasts pages by clicking the tiles below.

The Crippled Crisp review was a podcast hosted by Marijn de Vries & Bannie Cheff. It all started during Edinburgh Fringe 2018 when these two comedians got a review, suggesting they would be great for podcasting. The podcast eventually ran from September 2018 until April 2020. This is a log of their podcasts from that period reviewing crisps, talking about society and disability and most of all, having a bunch of laughs!

Before the start of the podcasts Marijn and Bannie made two hour long Comedy shows that they performed at Edinburgh Fringe. First, Guardians of Imperfection in 2017 and finally Prophets of Imperfection in 2018. of both shows recordings were made but sadly those are now forever lost on a never to be found external harddrive. the Imperfection trilogy should have ended with Saviours of Imperfection, but this final show in the trilogy has never even been written as both Marijn and Bannie felt that making a third hour long show was to big of a strain on their energy.

Handicap, schmanicap. People with a disability are certainly not always weak, victims and they can speak for themselves. Maybe they can even be heroes. Two Dutch comedians, Marijn and Sem, will take you on an origins story, about the need to be perfect, politics, the silliness of the world and how we are all eventually imperfect.

Guardians of Imperfection is about the start of a journey, who’s journey?  one might ask. The journey of Captain Cane (Marijn de Vries) and Brace boy ( Bannie Cheff)

Not so long ago in this very galaxy two guys with a disability met doing standup comedy. What are the odds? They decided to join forces and illuminate the life of a cripple. Two individuals, two different handicaps, one story. Guardians of Imperfection is the start of a saga called the imperfection saga.

Inspired by Star Wars and superheroes these two Dutch comedians return to Fringe to analyze the past, present and future of disabilities. They realize they are no longer Guardians, but Prophets of Imperfection. Fighting for an honest place in society (with or without crisps) things take an unexpected turn in this second part of their trilogy about living with a disability. Crisps or respect, what would you choose?

Finally, before Marijn & Bannie ever recorded their first crisp review or set foot on an Edinburgh stage they wrote a number of crisps reviews that you can find here.
